May 13th, 2008

No one and I mean No one could take a vacation or trip to Mexico and not purchase an abundance of presents for everyone at home from the mailman to your wife’s Aunt Matilda. The Vedanta can gladly direct you to the best locations for any sort of product you may be searching for.

Although many people are amazed by the beauty and activity which abounds in Acapulco there are even more that are flabbergasted at the outdoor markets and the deals that can be struck with these local business people. If nothing else you could request a tour involving the market centers around the Vedanta.

Depending upon where you plan to complete your souvenir shopping and just how well your negotiate skills happen to be you may just return to your home upon completion of you vacation with several different bags of Mexican treasures. Some of Mexico’s best arts and craft items are created here so it makes good sense to pick some up for your friends at home. Although all of these fine craft items are not made in the immediate area the Vedanta supports the venders of the surrounding area also.

Prices may be somewhat elevated as compared to purchasing your items at the source  however considering the location with all the tourist guest at the Vedanta the market prices are not rally that bad.

A particularly good place to purchase those Mexican souvenirs is Fermin. Throughout Mexico you cannot find a greater selection of high quality souvenirs, gifts, jewelry, authentic Mexican sombreros and t-shirts at such bargain prices without the hassle of actually having to haggle with the venders.

Many of the market squares are well within walking distance thus your trip back to the Vedanta is quick and effortless. There are a vast number of souvenir shops setup between the market square and the Vedanta. So many shops in fact that you could conceivably shop as you walk back. Just keep in mind that you will not get the best deals that you would by purchasing from Fermin.

The Artisans Mall is an open-air type mall where you can locate some inexpensive craft type items while strolling through their many aisles. Now this is one spot where you will find yourself having to bargain with the venders in an effort to obtain the best possible prices.  You may have to use the services of a taxi as the artisans mall is a considerable walk from the Vedanta.
